The sand from the beach squished pleasantly between the claws of the much-delighted wolf on the beach. Bourin had raced up the waterside a few times now, and was currently delighting himself in the smaller details of the beach -- the soft touch of the sand, the sound the shells and pebbles made if he kicked one onto the other, or kicked them into the other...this, he thought, was a very peaceful, and very magical, sort of place. Full of wonders for a fellow like himself.
He sat himself down, exhausted from his previous sprinting, and scratched absently at the dirt, digging a small hole. It was a purposeless task, but it relaxed him even further and was very pleasing.
The sun, with its golden glow (or rather, his golden glow, as Bourin preferred to think of the sun as male and the moon as female), beat down pleasantly on the wolf's back. His tongue lolled out gleefully and he soaked up the beauty of the beach once more.

Bourins eyes were half shut in a lazy sort of expression, when suddenly he felt something hit him hard from behind.
"Gah!" he exclaimed, falling forward with the force of whatever had run into him. He stumbled for a moment, but then regained his balance and turned to meet the eyes of a she-wolf with his own golden ones.
She looked to him a regal enough specimen, so with all the courtesy of his gentlemanly personality, he gave her a light bow. "All is well, m'lady," he returned, feeling much more graceful now that he had regained his upward position and was no longer falling into the dirt. He reached up a paw to his chest and lightly brushed off some sand. "Just a tumble, nothing I can't handle."
He gave a slightly lopsided grin -- for all his polite demeanour, he remained a very goofy and amusing sort of individual. Remembering his manners, he added on, "And, er...yourself? Are you fine as well?"

Bourin gave a grand, luxurious sort of stretch, listening for the telltale crack in his spine which told him he had stretched far enough, and then straightened himself again, still grinning absently.
"It's a lovely day," he murmured absently, soaking in the sunlight, his eyes half-closed again.
He shook out the sand from his coat again, and then he too, looked between his paws, suddenly feeling rather awkward. He had always performed his best with groups, rather than 'one on one' sorts of situations.
"Well, er, nice talking to you..." he murmured, turning away from the she-wolf.
